We have tested a lot of AA rechargeable batteries over the years, most of which we end up discarding. The AmpTorrent Rechargeable Lithium AA caught and held our attention for a number of valuable reasons. 

• Each battery charges up to 3.7 volts. This is more than you would normally want from a AA, but every single battery has a micro-processor that regulates the voltage down to a consistent and reliable 1.5 volts. Having the extra voltage "in the bank" is how it keeps the voltage consistent and long-lasting.
• The same micro-processor regulates the incoming charge (when charging the batteries). This is akin to having a traditional smart charger. 
• Each 4-pack comes with a USB cable with 4 micro usb connections that plug directly into the batteries. 
• Each battery has a 3000 mWh capacity which is equivalent  2000 mAh. You can expect up to 1200 recharges per battery. 
• These batteries are compatible with all trail cameras that use AA batteries.
• In freezing temperatures, you should expect a 10% reduction in capacity. 

How long will these batteries last in the field?

You can expect the overall battery life to be between a regular alkaline battery and a non-rechargeable Lithium battery. 

Compared to regular AA Lithium batteries, you pay for the cost of these batteries after two charges. After that, you are money ahead.
